Hello!

Welcome to partake in our journey with seeds!

Fifty years ago, men and women from world over came to Auroville to work together to create a place that could belong to humanity as a whole and hold the aspiration for human unity and progress. They started their work by planting trees on what used to be a barren dusty land. Today, Auroville is a beautiful dense forest with hundreds of varieties of plants.
And with the number of people now returning to the land to tend to their wounded soil and their souls, we thought it would be a great way of partaking in many people's stories of healing and regeneration by sharing seeds from this healed land. This is a small way for us to gift forward a beautiful feeling of nourishment, well-being, abundance and gratitude that we experience every time we walk through the forests here.

We collect seeds with a lot of care and hope that they'll grow roots some place where they will be loved, tended to, cherished and shared forward. We have spoken and sung stories and songs to our seeds, which we hope they will carry with them to your lands and hearts.

We will keep working on this website collection with more photos, artwork, and information on germination rates and ways we can work with these seeds and plants.

You can share your request for seeds by filling out a simple form. Would be lovely to hear your stories as well in the comments section below too.

We welcome any contribution from your heart either as money or in kind.

We look forward to connecting with lovely souls who want to share the joy of seeding the new world with us; a world where all life and matter is treated as sacred.

"Nothing in the world excites me like seeds do! Well, almost nothing else. :) Collecting and storing seeds is one of my most favourite activities. When I proposed a seed-bank project to Isha, she jumped at it. Since then, it’s been a lot of experimenting with learning and we are looking forward to more. And sharing our joys and insights along the way. :)"

"Amma loves to collect all kinds of seeds. But I don’t enjoy it that much, unless it’s my favourite ‘Abrus precatorius’ or ‘Cardiospermum halicacabum’ (balloon vine) seeds. Because they look so beautiful! I love popping the “balloon” to get the black seeds with the white hearts on them. When I was little, I used to say, “the heart has God in it”. I love website designing, photography, counting and packing seeds when we receive orders. And am waiting to do more of all these!"

  4. It is a beautiful project, Sangeetha. Wish that you and Isha will find much more fulfillment in implementing it, and together inspire a forest into existence somewhere.
